How I Secured Google’s #1 Position in Just One Month.

Getting to the top of Google’s search results can feel like an impossible task, especially in competitive industries like wedding photography. But what if I told you that I managed to secure the #1 ranking in just one month?

The secret?

Long-tail keywords.

Let me walk you through exactly how I did it and how you can use the same strategy to boost your online visibility.

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Why Long-Tail Keywords Are a Game-Changer

Long-tail keywords are specific, detailed search phrases that go beyond generic searches. Instead of competing for high-traffic but highly competitive keywords, focusing on long-tail keywords helps you target a more relevant audience and increase your chances of ranking higher, faster.

For example, instead of trying to rank for a broad term like “wedding photographer”, I targeted “female wedding photographer in Suffolk”—a phrase that my ideal clients were actively searching for.

Step 1: Finding the Right Long-Tail Keyword

The key to success is choosing the right long-tail keyword. I researched phrases that my potential clients were searching for using tools like:

  • Google’s Auto-Suggest (start typing a phrase and see what Google suggests)

  • Answer The Public (https://answerthepublic.com/)

  • Ubersuggest & SEMrush (SEO tools for keyword analysis)

I found that “female wedding photographer in Suffolk” had less competition but strong intent—meaning people searching for it were actively looking to book someone like me!

Step 2: Crafting Optimised Content

Once I had my keyword, I created high-quality, valuable content centred around it. My strategy included:
✅ Writing a detailed blog post that answered potential clients’ questions.
✅ Naturally incorporating the keyword throughout the content (title, headers, and body).
✅ Optimising my website for speed, readability, and mobile friendliness.

Step 3: Seeing Fast Results

Within two weeks, my blog post secured the top spot on Google for my chosen keyword. This wasn’t just a one-time win—it had a ripple effect on my entire website’s rankings. Because Google recognised my site as an authority for related topics, I also saw a boost in broader keywords like “wedding photographer Suffolk.”

The Long-Term Benefits of Long-Tail Keywords

Using this strategy, I:
✔️ Increased my website traffic.
✔️ Attracted more ideal clients (instead of random visitors).
✔️ Strengthened my overall SEO, making it easier to rank for other terms.

Long-tail keywords aren’t just a quick win—they build credibility and authority over time, helping you secure long-term SEO success.

Ready to Rank Higher on Google?

If you’re struggling to get found online, it’s time to start leveraging long-tail keywords. Do some research, create valuable content, and optimise your website for search engines.
